Terms & Conditions — Shepherd

Last updated: 20.07.2026

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of Shepherd (the “App”), developed and operated by Andy Jamerson, an individual developer (“we,” “us,” “our”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. The App

Shepherd shows a daily Bible verse paired with a landscape photograph, primarily as a phone wallpaper. The App does not require an account and does not include social features, comments, or user-generated content.

2. Free and paid features

The core App — the daily wallpaper, manual save, and the ESV, KJV, Reina-Valera 1909, and Luther 1912 translations — is free to use, permanently — these four translations will never move behind a paywall. An optional subscription and one-time purchase, “Shepherd+,” supports the App and unlocks additional non-essential features (such as themes, notifications, extra widgets, automatic daily wallpaper, and immediate access to the full verse library). Shepherd+ pricing and terms are shown in the App before purchase and are also available on the App Store product page.

3. Subscriptions and payment

All purchases (including auto-renewing subscriptions) are billed and processed by Apple through the App Store, using your Apple ID payment method. We do not receive or store your payment details. Auto-renewing subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your device’s Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions. Where a free trial is offered, you will not be charged until the trial ends, unless you cancel before it does. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s own refund policies; we do not process refunds directly.

4. Bible text and copyright

Bible verse text used in the App is used under the applicable publisher’s license or public-domain status for each translation. The required copyright notice for the ESV translation appears in the App’s Settings/About screen and on this website. You may not extract, copy, or redistribute Bible text from the App beyond normal personal use (e.g., sharing a single verse as intended by the App’s share feature).

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to reverse-engineer, resell, or misuse the App, or to use it in any way that violates applicable law or infringes the rights of Crossway, Good News Publishers, or any other rights holder whose content appears in the App.

6. Privacy

Shepherd does not require an account and does not collect personal data; its App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected.” Optional iCloud sync, if enabled, stores data in your own private iCloud account under Apple’s own terms. If you set up automatic daily wallpaper, the App asks for add-only access to your Photos library, used solely to save each day’s wallpaper into a dedicated album on your device — the App cannot view your existing photos. Questions about privacy can be sent to the contact below.

7. No warranty

The App is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose, and we are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last updated” date above.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you also benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.
